Finally...I'm posting....

Jordan has inspired me to post after not posting for weeks! I feel like I have been crazy busy the past few weeks and have not had a chance to clean my house let alone post a blog. Anyway, here is the run down.

The job in Park City fell through. The day before I was supposed to start the job I received a call from the mom and she said that their current nanny had changed her mind and decided to stay. I had already quit my job at that point so I freaked out. I called my nanny agency immediately and asked her if she had any available jobs. Fortunately, a job had just become available. I interviewed for the job the following evening and was offered the job on the spot. WOO HOO! I am working 7 miles away from home compared to the 25 miles to Park City. The kids are GREAT, the parents are great, the hours are great, the pay is great, the benefits are great, the job is GREAT! I am so happy that the job in Park City did not work out. I was also able to take a week long vacation to Arizona since I was not able to start the job immediately. It was great to be able to see my family and friends in AZ for an extended period of time. (Last trip was too short and scheduled so it was great to be able to relax.)

Halloween was a lot of fun. I was able to see my nanny kids before they went out trick or treating. Jordan and I went to a party at Haley's sister's house and that was a lot of fun as well. Later that night, a few of us went to a dueling piano bar and ran into Sarah Palin and her entourage. Haha...it was great.

I am finally getting over the horrible head cold that I had all last week. I ended up missing 1 1/2 days of work during my first week. My bosses were very cool about it and the kids did not get sick so I was happy about that. Jordan was amazing and so patient with me during the sick time. (I was horribly whiny and needy the entire time that I was sick and he was very tolerant.)

Jordan moved to Salt Lake last week! HOORAY! I am so excited that he lives a few minutes away versus 35 minutes. He is currently looking for a job so if anyone knows of anything, please let me know.

I think that that is about it for right now...I will be better at posting more frequently.

SERIOUSLY? No, SERIOUSLY???

So this morning I woke up to Jordan telling me that my house was flooded. UGHHHH! Apparently there are roots that are blocking the sewage line at my house THAT MY BROTHER WAS AWARE OF! Conveniently, my brother was already at work and I am currently not working so guess who has been on clean up duty for the past 4 hours? Yep, me! I started with soaking up all of the standing water. I have about 3 loads of towels to do now. Afterwards, I pulled up alot of carpet and the padding underneath it. I just rented a dryer from Home Depot so hopefully it will dry quicklky. What a way to start the day....today is sucky!

Hey ya'll...I am soon going to be making my blog private since I recently found out that weirdos are reading my blog. Creepy, I know. Please email me your email addresses so I can make sure that you will be able to access the blog. Thank you!

It's Winter time...already!

So it is officially snowing in Salt Lake! I was going to take a picture of my car completely covered in snow this morning but I just didn't have the energy at 8:00 when I didn't get to bed until after 3:00. Anyway, by the time I was actually out of bed at noon, the snow had melted. There is still lots of snow in the mountains so I might take a picture of that tomorrow. I am not prepared for winter at all. I own flip flops, tank tops, and a couple of hoodies for when it got "really cold" in Arizona. Jordan and I went shopping yesterday and I bought a very cute coat. I still need to buy boots, scarves, gloves, snow tires and who knows what else. Keep in mind, I will be working in Park City starting in a week and it is always 10 degrees cooler up there than it is in Salt Lake City. Wish me luck!

This week has been a very busy and a very fun week. Tuesday night I had a meeting with all of the women that are staffing Women's training this week. Afterwards, a few of us went out to eat. We decided to celebrate Haley's birthday since it was the following day.

Wednesday night Jordan and I went to Haley's house to celebrate her b-day with her family. Thursday night was Grey's Anatomy and my coaching call. The call went very well and I'm very excited to be coaching again and learning so much from the trainees. Friday night Jordan and I went out to eat with Haley and her family and some other friends...to celebrate Haley's b-day for the third time! It's a good thing we like Haley and all. =) On Saturday, Jordan and I had lunch with his parents, did some shopping, went to the spa for a brief moment, attended the Awakenings graduation, and then had some friends come over to my house for drinks and games! It was a lot of fun! Jordan and I went over to his parents house tonight to have dinner and watch Desperate Housewives with the family. His family is hilarious and they are constantly surprising me with what comes out of their mouths. I'm grateful to be dating someone with such a great family. Jordan and I talked my mom into coming to Salt Lake City for Thanksgiving so we will be spending the day with his family. I'm a little nervous about the parents meeting the parents but I know it will go well. Lots of random thoughts, I know. Anyway, it was a great week and it was made even greater since I got to spend the entire weekend with Jordan.

My brother finally sent me pictures from our camping trip in September. I love that my nieces and nephews are all learning how to golf. Cute pictures below!

Ugh...feeling overwhelmed..

I gave my two week notice at work today. My last day is October 15th since I already requested the 16th and 17th off for Women's Training. While I am excited to start my new job, I am hesitant to leave the professional world. I am second guessing everything today.

I am allowing myself to be in a space of frustration so much lately. I am frustrated with recent choices I have made, my financial instability, lack of school completed, and the way I've showed up in my relationships the past couple of months. I have been regressing in so many relationships. I have been so focussed on unimportant things, things that have brought me down. I allow myself to stay in this space because it seems easier than pushing through. My to do list seems to grow everyday and I seem to ignore it more each passing day. I haven't figured out why I'm avoiding forward movement. Uggh...so frustrated!

Freakin...a bit

I am about to leave to go meet Jack, the five year old. He is at home with his current nanny, Eliza. Neither of the parents will be home for the time that I am there. I am more nervous meeting the nanny than I was to meet the parents. I know how critical I was of the new nanny for my kids and I worry that she is just as critical. She has been working for them for a couple of years so she has been with Jack since he was 3 and has raised Grace from birth. The parents have talked about the amazing relationships they've had with their nannies which is a great thing. At the same time, I have some big shoes to fill. Wish me luck....

2nd Interview

So the nanny interview went really well on Saturday. I was there for about 2.5 hours! You might be thinking this is extreme, but I never expect a nanny interview to be less than an hour. I really like both of the parents. I met the one year old Grace but did not get to meet the five year old Jack because he was at the circus with one of his soccer buddies. The family asked me to come back tomorrow to meet Jack. The mom has basically said they want to hire me but just need me to come meet Jack. I'm excited to get back in the nanny field and to be able to do some house managing again. I'll keep you posted!

Grey's Premiere Tonight!!!

My office is prety much just crazy. We have 17 employees in our office and 15 of them are women! This creates a crazy office environment. Fortunately, there is not a lot of pettyness and backbiting like I anticipated before I accepted the job. The office is constantly full of laughing and teasing which is fun. And the conversations that get started....WOW! It's a great thing that the two males that work here have an office in the back and do not hear us ladies being crazy. I am grateful that I found such a fun job when I jumped back into the professional world. I may be leaving this job soon, which brings me to my next topic....

I have a job interview on Saturday for a nanny position in Park City. The family has a five year old boy named Jack and a one year old girl named Grace. I spoke with the mom last night for about 30 minutes and it sounds like it might be a great match. Jack is in school everday until 3:00 and Grace takes two naps everyday. My hours would be really flexible because the Grandma lives in Park City as well and fills in a lot of the time. I would be able to spend a lot of time with each child on a one-on-one basis which would be fabulous. Jack loves to ski in the winter so the parents would pay for several ski passes per season or a season pass for me! The pay is very decent and I would almost be making as much as I was making in Arizona which is very exciting. I found out when I moved to Utah that nannies make about $5 to $7 less per hour than nannies in Arizona and this is why I have hesitated getting a nanny job for so long. Anyway, I'm excited to meet the family.

Tonight is the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy! I am very, very excited! It is 2 hours long and I can't wait!

3rd post in 24 hours...MADNESS!!!

Ok so I'm copying Kaddy and creating a poll for everyone. I have been thinking about switching my full time job. My only hesitation is losing my medical coverage. I have been looking for a full time nanny job over the past couple of months but not looking too hard. Should I continue my search? Should I stick with the job I currently have? I don't know. Well, that's where you come in. Vote and let me know what you think! Thanks =)

2nd Post for today...gotta shout out to my Sexy Girls!

When I got home this afternoon, guess what was waiting for me? A Halloween card from my besties in Arizona!!! Kaddy, Rachie, and B all sent me a card saying "missing you lots." I feel so loved. Those girls are so amazing. I love each of them so much and I am so lucky to have such wonderful best friends. I love you girls!

2 Months in Review

Ok! Ok! Ok! I'm finally posting people. It has been a crazy couple of months. It seems like life never slows down these days. So here's what's going on....I have been working my two jobs. My full time job is going really well. There have been a few bumpy moments...like when there is crazy tension in the office thanks to a few or when I'm making crap compared to what I used to and I feel like I should look for a different job. I interviewed for a full time nanny job a few weeks ago. They were offering pretty good pay for Utah's standards. It was hard for me to think about going back to not getting any breaks during the day and also having to pay for my own health insurance. I turned down the nanny job. Anyway, that was a sidenote. My second job, the crazy one, is going somewhat ok. I do not get paid enough to deal with some of the crap that comes up. I spoke with the other crisis manager and we have decided to switch off weekends so now instead of having the phone every weekend for a 24 hour period I will have the phone the entire weekend every other weekend. This is the first weekend, and besides the call at 2 this morning regarding a client having multiple seizures and the millions of scheduling issues calls, it's been going pretty well.

I have had the opportunity to go to Idaho three times over the past couple of months. I absolutely love my trips up there. I am very happy about my decision to move to Utah because I am so close to my family up north. Usually the drive is about 2 1/2 hours sometimes 3 if there is bad traffic. When B came up for the 4th of July, we made the trip up to Idaho. It was a blast to spend the day at Chad and Kari's having a huge water fight, jumping on the trampoline, and eating and drinking with the family. That night we got to see the biggest fireworks show west of the Mississippi. It was insane! I have not seen that many fireworks ever. Needless to say, it was an amazing trip and all of my family thoroughly enjoyed B's company. (I love that woman!) J.P. flew up to SLC a couple of weekends ago. We drove together to Idaho for Chloe's (my niece) birthday weekend. We ended up going camping close to West Yellowstone. The campsite was centered around a golf course, random I know! It was great to be with all of the family camping and eating Kari's amazing food. I have included some pictures of the 4th of July trip and camping trip pictures will come.

At the end of August, I finally made a trip to Arizona. I had not been back to Arizona since the end of April so I was basically dying to see everyone. I had made a schedule about a week before I left so that I could see as many people as possible. I stayed with B, of course! I was able to spend time with B, Rachel, Kaddy, Ky, Staci, Po, the triplets and Reece, the Cabi family, my brother and Sam. All of my kids are getting huge. It amazes me that all of them have grown so much over just a few months. By Saturday night, I was struggling knowing that I was going to be returning to Utah the following night. I was a little bit crabby and fortunately my girls were understanding. I am continually torn because I absolutely love my friends and family in the Valley and I love living in Utah and being so close to my family in Idaho. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and I am grateful that I got to spend time with everyone. I have also posted some pictures from AZ.

Jordan and I are back on again. Shocker, I'm aware. =) He's an amazing man and treats me with the upmost respect. I'm not willing to let our relationship go when I see so much potential in it. We are planning on heading to Houston for Thanksgiving to be with my mom. I am excited to be going back to Houston since it has been almost 2 years. I love showing Houston off because I love the city. The nightlife is like no other city I've ever experienced and I have just always loved it there. It's been a while since I introduced anyone to Houston and I'm excited that it's going to be Jordan.

My mom was just hit by Hurricane Ike this past weekend. It was very intense. She lost power on Friday night about 5 hours before Hurricane Ike hit land an hour south of my mom. The entire night I was watching the news and giving her updates over the phone. (She did not buy batteries for her radio so she had no idea what was going on. Smart huh?) Her home teacher had come over earlier in the day to board up her bedroom windows so she had locked herself and the cat in her bedroom to ride out the storm. I called her in the morning right when the eye of the hurricane was going through her town. She went outside to survey the damage before the second half of the storm hit. Her entire fence was knocked down all around her yard, the branches off of trees were everywhere, and there was some leaking inside the house. She was not able to get out of her driveway for over 2 days because there was too much debris blocking the garage. It is Saturday over a week later and she still has not had power restored. One more reason I want her to move out of Houston....

Upcoming fun....
My family from Idaho is coming down next weekend so I plan to spend a lot of my weekend with them. I'm going to be coaching again for the next group going into The Great Life in October. I'm also staffing Women's training in mid-October. I am very excited for both! I'm also going to be finishing up my CNA classes in October and hopefully passing the state boards by early November. The weather is cooling down a lot and I'm worried for the winter that is just around the corner...first winter in Utah...aaaahhhh!!!

I'm lame, thank guys!

So I've been getting threatened by everyone to post a new blog or I will be dead meat! Life has been busy people!!!!! I will post later tonight with pictures from 4th of July, trip to AZ, and any other random ones that I have. I'll let everyone know what has been going on with me as well. Happy now????

And life goes on....

This past week has been an INSANE week! I was in AZ last weekend (pictures are to come) and flew home on Monday afternoon. Work was crazy, crazy busy this week. I don't think I left the office before 6:30 any night. ( I am supposed to be off of work at5:00.) One of my brothers announced that him and his significant other were splitting up and another one of my brothers is telling his significant other that they are through later on this week. I have been dealing with my own relationship issues as well. My mom is possibly in the path of a category 4 hurricane and I am almost positive that she will refuse to evacuate even if she is told to do so. She refused to evacuate during the last hurricane a couple of years ago and she even had a confirmed seat on a flight which was impossible to obtain at that point. It has just been an intense week, but I already said that! =) Through these trials, I have started to appreciate my family even more than before. Since we are spread out over several states and countries it makes it difficult to see each other. Even though we have hundreds or thousands of miles in between us, I still feel very connected to every single one of them. I am so grateful that I am living in Salt Lake now because I have one brother living above me and I am only three hours away from my brothers in Idaho Falls. I'm doing my best to convince J.P. to move to Salt Lake or Idaho Falls but I think right now it might be a long shot. Anyway, it is great to be spending time with the fam this weekend.

UTAH...everybody's doing it!

I am so excited! I just found out that my friend BJ is moving to Utah in two weeks. My friend Mallory and her family moved here a month ago. Soooo...I'm thinking that everybody's doing it. I have a definite few people that I would REALLY, REALLY like living in Utah. B, Kaddy, Rachie, Po....I just think that would be amazing.

Arizona is only 2 weeks away! I can not contain my excitement. I haven't seen my AZ people since the end of April and I was neurotic the entire trip trying to get everything organized for the move. I am still debating whether I am going to drive or fly to AZ. I need to figure out a schedule sometime soon too so that I can let everyone know what the plan is. I'm definitely not looking forward to the heat.

Anyway, SOOOO glad it's Friday..(even though I'm working all weekend at my other job.) Anything fun going on this weekend?

It takes a toll to make you care...

"Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings." And isn't that the truth? Today I am finally feeling some peace. My thoughts have been racing for months and I have not felt at peace with any aspect of my life. Last night I had the opportunity to go to dinner with Mardele. We talked about various things and I don't know what it was that really hit me but after leaving dinner I felt like I was clear. I have been so focussed on what's not working in my life that I haven't taken the opportunity to be grateful for what is working. It has been almost a year since I made a gratitude list and I feel like now, more than ever, it is time. So I am grateful for......

Boredom

So today is dragging on FOREVER! I got next to NO sleep last night. Work is really slow...typically when I come back back from my hour lunch, I have LOTS of emails and a few voicemails...today I had none! I went to lunch with two of my co-workers and made the mistake of drinking a beer which has now made me want a nap. At lunch we discussed several things...one of which was politics. I am still unclear about who I am voting for this fall. I had made up my mind but now I am starting to flip back and forth. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Soooo...I'm excited to work this weekend. Jordan will be out of town for the majority of the weekend so he won't be distracting me. =) My second job can be a little stressful but most of the time I have some great stories to tell. I am a crisis manager for a company that provides 24 hour care to teens/adults with physical and mental disabilities. Most of the clients are high functioning with personality disorders and such. We do have some crazy clients though. My favorite was last weekend...I got a call on the emergency phone regarding one of the new clients that had left the home without permission. There was only one staff member working so she could not leave the other clients to follow the client. I went to find the client and found that he was in a motorized wheelchair. Well, the wheelchair would not fold down so I couldn't put it in my car so I had to drive 5 mph behind the client to make sure that he went home. We ran into a few detours on the way but eventually made it back to his house. I wish I had had a videotape to record this situation because it was actually quite humorous. I think I'm going to start taking one of our clients to church. She is LDS but her family wants staff to take her instead of them. I figure why not get paid to go to church? Haha...I'm definitely going to hell. I'm a little nervous to take her because she has been known to yell out words like "pornography" during the meetings. I'm sure I will have some good stories to tell. Anyway, I really need to make some cash and fast so that I can hurry up and pay off some of my bills. I would really like to take a trip to Mexico with the girls in the near future...that will of course require some money and a lot more than the last trip. (15 hour drive vs. 5 hour drive)
I am very excited for my trip to AZ next month. I miss my kids like crazy and I can not wait to spend time with my girlies. The heat is probably going to kill me since I have been living in freaking amazing weather the past 4 months but none the less it will be amazing because I will be surrounded by my faves!

"Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same."

I have made the choice to block everyone out today. I turned off my phone and I have no desire to talk to anyone. I know deep down that I am not dealing with my emotions in an orderly fashion but I just want to be numb. The lyrics from a song by The Fray keeps playing over and over in my head..."Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same...." I know that I made the right decision and it just sucks...sucks, sucks, sucks! I am struggling because I know that I did not show up in the relationship the way that I could have. I knew on Tuesday that this was a temporary thing and I knew I could not drag it out any longer because there was another person involved whose feelings were on the line....and now that everything has been said and done, I am feeling like a huge part of me is missing. I want to run to Arizona and just ignore life as I've known it the past few months. So I guess where I'm at right now is I can run and hide or I can take this as a blessing and learn and grow from it. Anyway, just in a shitty place.

Frustration

I just had a fabulous weekend and now I am having a horrible Monday. I feel like I can not please anyone right now. I know that I should not be focussed on pleasing others but I am a people pleaser and I am just being one with what is. Last week I made the decision to get clear about who I am and where I am going and I have had moments of clarity but there has not been a huge shift. I am frustrating several people in my life by holding off on this. There are times that I think about how much easier it would be to just move back to Arizona right now. I know that I would be running if I did but it just sounds so convenient. Money struggles would vanish, my best friends would be within a few minutes of my house, my room in my old house is available again, and my job is sitting there waiting for me to return. (This sounds especially great right after B has visited.) I know that I get to work through this because it will only make me stronger but right now I'm ready to run.

In this moment....

Life has been crazy the past few weeks. I am adjusting to the new job and the new state and all that. I've been struggling like crazy to pay bills since I am making half of what I was making in AZ. I start a new job on Tuesday. I am working for a company that provides 24 hour care for adults with physical and mental disabilities. I am excited to be having more income because I am so sick of being stressed about the lack of cashflow. I am driven by power and money and when those two things are not in my favor, then I'm not a fun person to be around. I am also missing AZ a lot lately. I miss my family, my friends, my job, my house...all of it. I would love to have the best of both worlds...just not sure how to make that happen. I have very much been in my stuff and not grounded at all so tomorrow is a new day. Time to make some changes and be in the moment.

Can't believe I've created a blog....

Ok so I've joined the life of the bloggers. We'll see how often I keep up with this. Haha anyway, that's all for now. (Lame, I know.)
