2nd Interview

So the nanny interview went really well on Saturday. I was there for about 2.5 hours! You might be thinking this is extreme, but I never expect a nanny interview to be less than an hour. I really like both of the parents. I met the one year old Grace but did not get to meet the five year old Jack because he was at the circus with one of his soccer buddies. The family asked me to come back tomorrow to meet Jack. The mom has basically said they want to hire me but just need me to come meet Jack. I'm excited to get back in the nanny field and to be able to do some house managing again. I'll keep you posted!

Grey's Premiere Tonight!!!

My office is prety much just crazy. We have 17 employees in our office and 15 of them are women! This creates a crazy office environment. Fortunately, there is not a lot of pettyness and backbiting like I anticipated before I accepted the job. The office is constantly full of laughing and teasing which is fun. And the conversations that get started....WOW! It's a great thing that the two males that work here have an office in the back and do not hear us ladies being crazy. I am grateful that I found such a fun job when I jumped back into the professional world. I may be leaving this job soon, which brings me to my next topic....

I have a job interview on Saturday for a nanny position in Park City. The family has a five year old boy named Jack and a one year old girl named Grace. I spoke with the mom last night for about 30 minutes and it sounds like it might be a great match. Jack is in school everday until 3:00 and Grace takes two naps everyday. My hours would be really flexible because the Grandma lives in Park City as well and fills in a lot of the time. I would be able to spend a lot of time with each child on a one-on-one basis which would be fabulous. Jack loves to ski in the winter so the parents would pay for several ski passes per season or a season pass for me! The pay is very decent and I would almost be making as much as I was making in Arizona which is very exciting. I found out when I moved to Utah that nannies make about $5 to $7 less per hour than nannies in Arizona and this is why I have hesitated getting a nanny job for so long. Anyway, I'm excited to meet the family.

Tonight is the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy! I am very, very excited! It is 2 hours long and I can't wait!

3rd post in 24 hours...MADNESS!!!

Ok so I'm copying Kaddy and creating a poll for everyone. I have been thinking about switching my full time job. My only hesitation is losing my medical coverage. I have been looking for a full time nanny job over the past couple of months but not looking too hard. Should I continue my search? Should I stick with the job I currently have? I don't know. Well, that's where you come in. Vote and let me know what you think! Thanks =)

2nd Post for today...gotta shout out to my Sexy Girls!

When I got home this afternoon, guess what was waiting for me? A Halloween card from my besties in Arizona!!! Kaddy, Rachie, and B all sent me a card saying "missing you lots." I feel so loved. Those girls are so amazing. I love each of them so much and I am so lucky to have such wonderful best friends. I love you girls!

2 Months in Review

Ok! Ok! Ok! I'm finally posting people. It has been a crazy couple of months. It seems like life never slows down these days. So here's what's going on....I have been working my two jobs. My full time job is going really well. There have been a few bumpy moments...like when there is crazy tension in the office thanks to a few or when I'm making crap compared to what I used to and I feel like I should look for a different job. I interviewed for a full time nanny job a few weeks ago. They were offering pretty good pay for Utah's standards. It was hard for me to think about going back to not getting any breaks during the day and also having to pay for my own health insurance. I turned down the nanny job. Anyway, that was a sidenote. My second job, the crazy one, is going somewhat ok. I do not get paid enough to deal with some of the crap that comes up. I spoke with the other crisis manager and we have decided to switch off weekends so now instead of having the phone every weekend for a 24 hour period I will have the phone the entire weekend every other weekend. This is the first weekend, and besides the call at 2 this morning regarding a client having multiple seizures and the millions of scheduling issues calls, it's been going pretty well.

I have had the opportunity to go to Idaho three times over the past couple of months. I absolutely love my trips up there. I am very happy about my decision to move to Utah because I am so close to my family up north. Usually the drive is about 2 1/2 hours sometimes 3 if there is bad traffic. When B came up for the 4th of July, we made the trip up to Idaho. It was a blast to spend the day at Chad and Kari's having a huge water fight, jumping on the trampoline, and eating and drinking with the family. That night we got to see the biggest fireworks show west of the Mississippi. It was insane! I have not seen that many fireworks ever. Needless to say, it was an amazing trip and all of my family thoroughly enjoyed B's company. (I love that woman!) J.P. flew up to SLC a couple of weekends ago. We drove together to Idaho for Chloe's (my niece) birthday weekend. We ended up going camping close to West Yellowstone. The campsite was centered around a golf course, random I know! It was great to be with all of the family camping and eating Kari's amazing food. I have included some pictures of the 4th of July trip and camping trip pictures will come.

At the end of August, I finally made a trip to Arizona. I had not been back to Arizona since the end of April so I was basically dying to see everyone. I had made a schedule about a week before I left so that I could see as many people as possible. I stayed with B, of course! I was able to spend time with B, Rachel, Kaddy, Ky, Staci, Po, the triplets and Reece, the Cabi family, my brother and Sam. All of my kids are getting huge. It amazes me that all of them have grown so much over just a few months. By Saturday night, I was struggling knowing that I was going to be returning to Utah the following night. I was a little bit crabby and fortunately my girls were understanding. I am continually torn because I absolutely love my friends and family in the Valley and I love living in Utah and being so close to my family in Idaho. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and I am grateful that I got to spend time with everyone. I have also posted some pictures from AZ.

Jordan and I are back on again. Shocker, I'm aware. =) He's an amazing man and treats me with the upmost respect. I'm not willing to let our relationship go when I see so much potential in it. We are planning on heading to Houston for Thanksgiving to be with my mom. I am excited to be going back to Houston since it has been almost 2 years. I love showing Houston off because I love the city. The nightlife is like no other city I've ever experienced and I have just always loved it there. It's been a while since I introduced anyone to Houston and I'm excited that it's going to be Jordan.

My mom was just hit by Hurricane Ike this past weekend. It was very intense. She lost power on Friday night about 5 hours before Hurricane Ike hit land an hour south of my mom. The entire night I was watching the news and giving her updates over the phone. (She did not buy batteries for her radio so she had no idea what was going on. Smart huh?) Her home teacher had come over earlier in the day to board up her bedroom windows so she had locked herself and the cat in her bedroom to ride out the storm. I called her in the morning right when the eye of the hurricane was going through her town. She went outside to survey the damage before the second half of the storm hit. Her entire fence was knocked down all around her yard, the branches off of trees were everywhere, and there was some leaking inside the house. She was not able to get out of her driveway for over 2 days because there was too much debris blocking the garage. It is Saturday over a week later and she still has not had power restored. One more reason I want her to move out of Houston....

Upcoming fun....
My family from Idaho is coming down next weekend so I plan to spend a lot of my weekend with them. I'm going to be coaching again for the next group going into The Great Life in October. I'm also staffing Women's training in mid-October. I am very excited for both! I'm also going to be finishing up my CNA classes in October and hopefully passing the state boards by early November. The weather is cooling down a lot and I'm worried for the winter that is just around the corner...first winter in Utah...aaaahhhh!!!
